Cocoon

Arbres et lumières - Genève (CH) | 28.11.2008 - 04.01.2009

A swarm of bright cocoons settled on the branches of the trees at the Jardin Anglais (English garden) in Geneva. Hardly perceptible ringing, sounds swinging in concordance with the wind can be heard. By pricking up one’s ear, the visitor perceives little by little the scattered notes of a lullaby, echoes of a musical box coming from above.
Thirty-five bright cocoons attached to seven trees. Size: 100.170 cm. Tightened white Lycra on metallic structure, white fluorescent lights
Sound installation: every cocoon has inside a case containing a musical box activated by an engine.
