Maisonnette des morts III

Maisonnette des Morts is a living work of art centred on death. It combines musical and poetic performance, ritual, and visual installation. It takes successive forms, known as ‘1st stage’, ‘2nd stage’, and so on, in various locations. Built from odds and ends, like a child’s hut, this little house is made up of songs and poems from the last 2,000 years.

As a work of art, Maisonnette des Morts aims to convey how contemplating death can open each of us up to a happier existence. Without denying sadness or fear.

The third instalment, presented in February 2026 at the Church of Saint-François in Lausanne, takes the form of an installation remaining in place for two weeks. On six occasions, it becomes the venue for a performance.
